Jersey Fresh, Still.

Two things I do not hate but do not love: tomatoes and mushrooms.

Fresh tomatoes from the farmer's market though? Now we're talking.

If we're talking sauce.

My tomato sauce is easy and was inspired by an old old recipe from Real Simple, that I actually tore out of a magazine in an acupuncturist office while waiting for my mother.  True story.  That's as criminal as my life gets, for the most part.

Garlic, olive oil, salt, sugar, pepper and tomatoes - fresh, when you can get 'em Fresh, or whole, canned and plum.  I normally never have basil, but if you got it, use it.  I removed them after the sauce thickened.

Thanks, summer.  You are good for a few things.

p.s. Alstede Farms, which produced the tomatoes, basil and garlic I used, is where Adam and I have also gone apple and pumpkin picking.

p.p.s. Correction - Alstede Farms is not the same farm.  We went to Riamede Farms... also in Chester, NJ.
